A Rose bestowed beauty unto me like never seen before She said, "Place your hand upon me" I replied, "Nay" (for many a thorn she bore.) So, my rose sobbed tears that sadden even the bluest of seas. Then She said, "My love rests not with a bruise or a prickly scar" So, though hesitant I was, I touched my beautiful one... ...And her thorns drove into my fingers hard. My rose blushed when I asked her, "My love, what have you done?"

Untitled

By Marquis Smith

"Untitled" is about how people have different perceptions about life and the obstacles that accompany it. Some people are optimistic while others are pessimistic. I recall coming up with this thinking of an intro. It's actually inspired by "Pigs on the wing" by Pink Floyd. Preferred genres (but not limited to) Rock intro

Lovelorn Behemoth

By Marquis Smith

"Lovelorn Behemoth" is about Ill fated attraction. As I listened to early Anathema I became inspired to come up with this piece. Here we see a man's descent into dangerous territory. Similar in tone with the "Songless Song" except instead of harming the love interest this character contemplate self inflicted harm. Preferred genres (but not limited to) Atmospheric rock, Progressive rock. Haunting progressive chords with depressing singing. Album that inspired this piece: Alternative 4.

Just Once, My Love

By Marquis Smith

"Just Once, My Love" details a person losing someone very dear to them and then sort of blaming God for their lose. Inspiration taken from My Dying Bride. No rhyme scheme here. Very mournful. MDB's "The Angel and the Dark River" was the album that inspired me the most to pen this. Preferred genres (but not limited to) Doom metal, gothic metal.

The Linkage

By Marquis Smith

"The Linkage" is simply about finding one's self. Burning away the old self and arising from the ashes like a phoenix. Understanding that we are flawed and accepting humanity. Linking together. Becoming one. Sort of a Pantera vibe lyrically. Preferred genres (but not limited to) Groove metal/Rock/Metal

Monsters Are Real

By Steven Soucy

Monsters are Real is a fun spirited but somewhat nasty song. About a terrifying person who robs, kills, without conscious or repent. Heavy metal/ Rob Zombie type song.

Backdoor Man

By John Clayton

Attention Gentlemen! The ladies in your life deserve just as much respect and attention as you desire for yourself. These lyrics explore the tale of the man who steps in and pays attention to that Woman who is neglected and or taken for granted. So "Heads Up" to all of those who take their Partners for granted whether they are Man or woman! Perfect for a hard driving Blues/Rock style ala George Thoroggood but is certainly adaptable to Contemporary or Country Rock.
