I Knew Her When She Was 19

(Sam Hendrian)

A wistful song sung by an elderly man about his dying wife, affirming that he has always loved her the same no matter what emotional struggles she happened to be enduring at a particular time of life.

Last night he held her wrinkled hand Like high tide holds the midnight sand, Watching as a dawn-lit day Flowed out towards a dusk-drenched bay. So much that came and went, So much received and sent, Yet before the zipper shut the tent, He said these words with his back bent: "I knew her when she was 19, Full of hope and full of dopamine, Not caring what it all might mean, Happy to dance from scene to scene." "Mystery was everywhere, Dreams were made to share, Peace meant to be unaware, Life was almost fair." Still she trembled on the bed, Lost in space ‘tween soul and head, Doubtful that he wouldn’t shed The pact he made when they were wed: "I knew her when she was 29, Full of doubt and full of midday wine, Ignoring what might be a sign Of waiting too long in luck’s line." "Mystery was hard to find, Dreams preferred to remain blind, Peace dwelled in the years behind, Life was fair in a fool’s mind." Strength kept fading by the hour Faster than her night stand flower, But he used his stubborn power To convey what he thought might wow her: "I knew her when she was 39, Full of fear and full of fractured spine, Wondering if light only chose to shine On those favored by the divine." "Mystery was nowhere, Dreams weren’t there to share, Peace meant to sit in a chair And think on how life’s never fair." "I know her while she’s 89, And still she’s my sweet valentine. I pray she hears while I opine: My dear, you’ve always done just fine."

A free therapist

By Eetu Ekholm

When people confide in you, you see and hear all sorts of things. Some good some bad. You can try to help, but if the people themselves aren't willing to accept your help and change, you are just left with a person using you to cope. A free therapist with no boundaries. They suck the life out of you, with the cost of your kindness.

Peacefully

By Javani Vito

I wrote this text for all the children and loved ones. Sometimes it´s a challenge to deal with all the duties, especially when we experience loss or other disappointments. Everyone needs somebody to lean on, mostly our children. They need all the support they can possibly get to grow, learn, discover their strengths and weaknesses. Ending the day should always have something magical to reflect, feel through all that made us smile and hurt us that day full of work, challenges and meetings. Fear needs to be talked about, worries need to be duscussed and every tiniest bit of happy moments need to be remembered and soaked in, so we can find our peace during the night and gain back some energy for the following day. And to feel loved by at least one person.

Mein Wille

By Sven Lenhardt

"Mein Wille" versucht sich in die Perspektive eines Amokläufers hineinzuversetzen und die Verzweiflung, Resignation, Hoffnungslosigkeit und Endzeitstimmung einzufangen, die in den Hirnwindungen eines solchen Menschen wütet, ohne sein/ihr Handeln zu verteidigen oder zu rechtfertigen.

I Am the I Am

By Melanie Thompson

I wrote these lyrics with the war occurring now in the middle east in mind. These are my beliefs. They are my own. I did not write them to persuade or offend. Writing is one of my hobbies. And my hobbies comfort me. As I am sure, your hobbies comfort you. They bring me peace. Which is what I wish for us all.
