Keep me safe, O, God, For I trust in You, I said to the Lord, you are my Lord; Keep me safe, O, God, For in you I take refuge. Apart from you I have no good thing. You have assigned me my portion and my cup; You have made my lot secure. The boundaries have fallen for me in pleasant places; Surely, Surely, in You I find a delightful inheritance. I will praise the Lord Who counsels me! Even at night in my heart the instructs me. I will keep Him Ever before me, He is at my right hand; I shall not be moved! You have assigned me my portion and my cup: You have made my lot secure. The boundaries have fallen for me in pleasant place; Surely, Surely, in you I find a delightful inheritance, Surely, Surely, in you I find a delightful inheritance.

She Sells Seashells

By Mary Blake

A variation on the tonguetwister, written for crowd participation. It should be funny, as many in the crowd will find it very difficult to participate. It is to be sung in 3 or 1. The first word of every line is on the downbeat for the measure. I sang it to the tune of a calliope (C E G, low G, E, G) to my kids. It is to be sung very slowly at first, to let the audience join in. It is sped up over several repetitions until the singer has outpaced the audience, at which point he sings the last two verses to wind up the story.

Sweet Dream

Description of the wistfulness that comes in separation (by distance) from a close friend -- it could be a breakup or death, but not necessarily. There is a longing for the friend and a struggle to visualize clearly, but in a dream your friend may come to you very, very clearly.

Bird in the Branches

By Mary Blake

Kids' singalong style song, conceived to the tune of "There's a Hole in the Bottom of the Sea" (until the repeating verse at the end -- the bird's actual song -- to which I had another tune) about a proud bird singing of his own attributes.
