She Sells Seashells
A variation on the tonguetwister, written for crowd participation. It should be funny, as many in the crowd will find it very difficult to participate. It is to be sung in 3 or 1. The first word of every line is on the downbeat for the measure. I sang it to the tune of a calliope (C E G, low G, E, G) to my kids. It is to be sung very slowly at first, to let the audience join in. It is sped up over several repetitions until the singer has outpaced the audience, at which point he sings the last two verses to wind up the story.

She sells sea-
shells. She sells
seashells. She
sells seashells.
She sells sea-
shells. She sells
by the sea
shore.
She sells sea-
shells. She sells
seashells. She
sells seashells.
She sells sea-
shells. She sells
by the sea
shore.
Sing it some
more.
(Repeat all of the above, speeding up each time until it's too fast...)
She sold sea-
shells. I'm told
she didn't
fail to sell
all her sea-
shells she sold
by the sea-
shore.
She sold sea-
shells. She sold
all her sea
shells, so it's
easy to
tell that the
shell sale is
o'er,
Sing it no mooooooooooooooooorrrrrrre!
