Depressing

(William Atnip)

This song is based off a freestyle I did with a friend talking about the issue of depression. Depression is a serious issue that can lead to "A selfish act" aka suicide. This song is perfect for either a new age rap style, or a more soulful and slow song.

It’s a cruel world no one's got it figured out Some find a meaning staying holy and devout Some never find it pull the trigger and they out Some find it in a bottle when they go and blackout Some find it in a bong when they go and smoke out Others choose to flex, get ice, gain clout Others choose to rest, destress, chill out Me I choose to write let the pen work it out I get it, you think my music is depressing I get it, you think that it’s got the wrong message I get it, but this issue I’m addressing A lot of people have it, they just hide it and repress it We all got demons all lose hope All got reason for a bullet or a rope All got a season where we find it hard to cope And wanna pop some pillies watch the world kaleidoscope We all got demons all lose hope All got reason for a bullet or a rope All got a season where we find it hard to cope And wanna pop some pillies watch the world kaleidoscope But focus on the good times, not the rainy days Focus on the blue skies, not the shades of gray Focus on the happiness, sorry for my sappiness Don’t have the baddest bitch, learn to open a bit Don’t have to be alone, crying in your room Take a hard look around there’s always someone there for you And If you wanna pull the trigger, maybe tie the noose Just focus on the people that would miss you if you do It may not seem apparent, but you’re loved by your parents Your grandma and your Auntie, and the ones who have to bear it It you pull a selfish act, your loss the have to share it The pain and the heart on the sleeve they have wear it This number’s to call if you don’t wanna be alive 1-800-273-8255 I wanna see you make it, I wanna see you thrive I don’t wanna see a headstone, have to say goodbye This number’s to call if you don’t wanna be alive 1-800-273-8255 And I wanna see you make it, I wanna see you thrive I don’t wanna see a headstone, have to say goodbye Cause not a single soul on the earth is a waste of space Ever feel alone, lose hope, need an embrace everyone along life’s road needs to retrace Follow their steps back home, to a starting place Go to a happy place, like your Gilmore Start doing simple things, that make you smile more I know that happiness might sound like a folk lore But you’ll get it one day, I promise If I’m being honest, depressions like a dragon It’s hard to overcome, the mere thought cause panic find a remedy, before you go volcanic Whether that’s music, or love, or botanics We all got demons all lose hope All got reason for a bullet or a rope All got a season where we find it hard to cope And wanna pop some pillies watch the world kaleidoscope We all got demons all lose hope All got reason for a bullet or a rope All got a season where we find it hard to cope And wanna pop some pillies watch the world kaleidoscope And we all know life, can get hella hard Kick you in the balls, stab you in the heart Out In the streets, people being harsh Walking to the store, seems like a death march you wanna ditch the brakes, go and crash your car Go up to a ledge and see how far You can jump You can jump seems the odds stacked against you, you can’t succeed You put in tears and work, and even bleed change could take some time, just plant the seed Don’t kill the sapling, let it grow into a tree seems the odds stacked against you, you can’t succeed You put in tears and work, and even bleed change could take some time, just plant the seed Don’t kill the sapling, let it grow into a tree

This is a song about a boy making you fall in love with them, and then telling you they don’t feel the same way. And you being confused as to why they did what they did, why they acted the way the acted. Knowing that you would’ve never fallen in love in the first place, but now you are, and you can’t go back.
