Interview with Steven Soucy
PL: Hi Steven, you are a successful lyricist and songwriter. Please tell us a little more about yourself:
Steven: Well I have been writing songs and lyrics for over 40 years, as well as short stories. I also sing lead vocals in a hard rock band. We have written and recorded several original songs. And I have personally written well over 100 original lyrics over the years.
PL: You are a lyricist. What brought you in this genre?
Steven: I really enjoy writing words that will be brought to life with music. I feel I have a gift for creating words and rhymes that come together to tell a story put to music to make people feel things. And I enjoy very much making people think and feel things, emotions, deep thoughts.
PL: Who are the artists have you found most inspiring?
Steven: I love the words and music that personally make me feel so much. Bands like Iron Maiden, Queensryche, The Cure, Disturbed, who combine deep, emotional, creative lyrics with amazing music. There is no feeling like the emotion you feel singing the words to your favorite songs.
PL: What are your plan for the future?
Steven: To continue writing thoughtful, impactful lyrics. Singing and creating new music with my band. I'd also live to collaborate my lyrics with other bands and artists, screen writers. For me I hope the sky is the limit. Anyone reading this that would like to work with me let me know.
