It is a sort of a love song - only sort of, because it is love blocked by fear and self-resentment. A person loves another person for their true nature, but feels like this person is better than them in a way, so they will not let themselves fall completely in love. They both want to achieve freedom through love, but freedom is not possible when you`re afraid of something (e.g. that you`re not good enough). These lyrics are pretty straightforward, so I think they are speaking for themselves.
I wrote this song with the feeling like I hit rock bottom. Deep, intense, and witty metaphorical wordplay.
Uplifting empowerment lyric about following one's dreams
Its about your life falling apart and you try to act like you’re ok to everyone and on the inside you feel like you cant take anymore of it and you medicate yourself with booze and easy women to numb the feeling.
Its about being in a relation and all of a sudden the relationship takes a turn for the worst and gets ugly. While the female did most of the work with the children the dad decides to step up after all the hard work is over and act like hes the super dad and gives the mother a bad name and keeps the children from her.
