You're not what I need

(Howard Aronson)

This lyric is about a relationship where one person is cheating on the other. They figure it out, even though the other person really doesn't make it too hard to figure out. They finally realize that they don't need to be in this relationship, and they tell them directly. The other person really doesn't care anyway, because they already found someone else that they're cheating with. They know they were a fool, to believe that they were faithful, but now they know they will no longer play that fool and the game is over

You kill the truth Whenever you talk So take your bullshit And go for a walk Baby, I may be blind But I can still see Yeah I know You're cheating on me You can bet That I'm all set I don't care if you leave You're not what I need You don't care That you're not discreet I even know Where the two of you meet I was a fool To go along with your rules Now that's going to stop Cuz I got smart You can bet That I'm all set I don't care if you leave You're not what I need Now you may think That I'll fall apart But there's no way Cuz I need a new start You may think I'll get on my knees But there's no way You're not what I need You can bet That I'm all set I don't care if you leave You're not what I need

Gold digging women

By Howard Aronson

This lyric is about women who only want money from a relationship. They prey on vulnerable men who might have a lot of money, and a little bit of Fame. They put up with the fact that even though they're being taken advantage of, it's okay if they have a good looking woman on their arm. It's not to say that all women are gold diggers, most of them are not, so please don't get the wrong impression. I've never been on that end, because I never had a lot of money. When I did have some money, more than I ever thought I would have, I did have women who went out with me just because I had some money. It's not to say that these men are good looking guys and couldn't get a woman to go out with them that isn't looking for just money. That's the situation that I was in. But I think you compromise your own beliefs, and in the end it's really your fault for being taken advantage of. I don't believe you can blame the woman.

Thorn in my side

By Howard Aronson

Cleric is about a relationship gone bad. All it's become is painful, and leaving a person feeling foolish and used. They're fed up, with all the lies and deceit, and tell them that It's Time to say goodbye, you can go do this to another guy. When you had enough in a relationship it becomes like a thorn in your side, it's always there pricking you. It makes you insane, and sometimes it makes people want to commit suicide. I had a friend who did that very thing.

Don't shut me out

By Howard Aronson

Cleric is about me and my ex-girlfriend. After we broke up in 2018, we figured out that we were better friends than we were a couple. She eventually got engaged in 2021, and that changed our relationship slightly. Her fiance was very jealous of me for some reason, he just couldn't understand how two people that dated could now be friends. Never mind, that we have a dog that we've shared since 4 months old, and he's now six. So anyway, he leaves her because he can't take her relationship with me anymore. When I talk to her on the phone and asked her why he left he said it's all about you. Immediately I felt really guilty about it, but then realized I didn't do anything wrong, or did we do anything wrong. So I wrote this lyric, about please don't shut me out from our friendship. Stay strong, and tell him that in order for him to come back, he has to accept our relationship. I am no threat to him, or do I ever interject myself into their business.

Dreaming black

By Howard Aronson

This lyric is about relapse on any type of addiction. I've gone to bed many times, laying there staring into darkness and crying. I knew my dreams were going to be dark and black, because I had relapsed back into my addiction of drugs and alcohol. It's a place I never wanted to go back to, unfortunately I did, and my dreams are consumed with. Today thank God, I'm dreaming more happy dreams, blue dreams like the sky without a cloud

Pain Potion

By Yeni Cuff

When you realize that this love brings more pain than pleasure then it is time to walk away. You lose the longer you stay around trying to fix what cannot be fixed. These lyrics capture just that; a sum of all the reasons it is best to walk away especially when the other person enjoys making you bleed out emotionally.
