Jay Egan

Jay Egan is from Melbourne Australia and has been writing short stories and lyrics from a very young age. Over the years, and while only a hobby, Jay has honed and strengthened his skill of storytelling which traverse from his short stories and into his musical lyrics. Having recently completed and made available his first novel, Devil Incognito, Jay is looking forward to further sharpening his writing techniques by moving headlong into his second novel as well as continuing to create diverse lyrics he hopes many will enjoy.

Nobody is perfect, but still many people are harder on themselves when they make a mistake or commit a faux par. It can escalate and send them into an endless vortex of regret and set loathing. It can confuse and change you, and it can go on for as long as you let it.......
This is a Hard Rock song pointed at the establishment. Its aggressive, direct and expresses a need to be able to exercise freedoms even though the government seems to try and keep everyone in line.
We all have regrets, times in our lives when we picked the wrong sliding door, many inconsequential but some life defining. Regardless, at times, we think about what might have been knowing very well that there is nothing we can do about it now.
War can turn an innocent child into a fearless killing machine, and it takes little time when they are thrown into a war that had nothing to do with them. This is more a story than a song, but with the right instrumentation could become a timeless allegory on the perils of war.
A love-letter to the city from a serial killer, taunting them and daring them catch him. His arrogance easily comes to the fore as he promises to hurt those he crosses.
