Merry Go Round

(John Hanover)

Once again escaping to the warmth, and carefree abandon of summer and activities away from the devices. The amusement ride is quite spectacular in its painted ponies and variety.

Leave Me Like You Do

First song written for and from a melody on the Trail Dulcimer. A little experimental in phrasing and rhyme.

Paint The Sun

By John Hanover

The chorus is a short poem I wrote when experimenting with the Nava Rasa ( Nine Emotional States ) from Hindi/Sanskrit. The verses are a variation off of my poetic form in regards to repeating the first line at the end of the verse. As with all my offerings I can edit or expand as needed. Spent years as a professional florist, so imagery and terms associated with and flowers will find their way into my works every now and then.

7 Day Downfall

A little less conventional than my usual writing. A faster, and easier rhyme scheme with its pacing could be more Rap or Hip Hop. All of my lyrics are open to any genre.

Porcupine Rain

By John Hanover

A slight homage to Classic Country in trying to drink away the heartache. The chorus hook came to me in a dream, and how rain catches random lighting looking similar to the bands in a Porcupine’s quill and stings as it sobers up the broken hearted man.

Blow Yer Reasons Away

By Nichole Gillespie

A couple, (that is at any other time), a very strong and bonded pair, have been now, fighting at a whole new level. Fighting that they're not used to, a fighting that is more frequent and of a caliber that's leaving a more prevalent impact on... So much so that she's about to call it quits and run... meanwhile he's saying it's just a phase, everything's gonna be ok..l

Singing on the corner

By Howard Aronson

This is a fictional lyric about someone who's a sidewalk performer, and hoping that he makes a big someday. It's so hard to become a star at anything, even if you're good, to be a pro at it is mostly a dream and people's minds. But you can never give up, and hope that one day you'll get a chance to prove to everyone that you belong on the big stage.
