Waiting on the Other Side
The other side is what? Heaven? Hell? Neither? Are all the sins we commit forgiven? I think so. I hope so. This is what the other side looks like to me. You may end up in a beautiful place (Heaven), but you will spend eternity in that beautiful place correcting all the wrong you did as a human being (Hell). So, for me, the other side is both. The more wrongs we right now, in human form, the less time we spend on the other side doing it.

Verse 1. There's a preacher
asking for forgiveness.
Sorting out the verses.
All the words he twisted.
There are clear blue skies
waiting on the other side.
There's a mother
kissing little baby.
Healing all the deep cuts.
All the ones she gave him.
There's a gentle breeze
waiting on the other side.
There's a dealer
bleeding out the poisoned.
Wishing he could buy back
all the filth he sold them.
There is higher ground
waiting on the other side.
There's a soldier
standing in a wheat field
shaking every hand
of every man he did kill.
There's a flowing stream
waiting on the other side.
Verse 2. There's a bad cop
giving a confession.
All the wrong she has done.
Turning in her weapon.
There are glassy lakes
waiting on the other side.
There's a rich man
burning all his money.
Dancing in the ashes.
Crying 'cause it's funny.
There are rolling hills
waiting on the other side.
There's a sad man
sewing cloth and leather.
Pieces he had ripped off.
Sew them back together.
There are rainbows bright
waiting on the other side.
There's a grandma
kneeling in her nightgown
fishing out the kittens.
All the ones that she drowned.
There are shady trees
waiting on the other side.
Chorus. The other side
it waits for us.
Like a subway train
or a crowded bus.
Sure to get there soon.
From dust to dust.
Meet you on the other side.
My friend.
See you on the other side.
Til then.
Waiting on the other side.
The end.
