Trucking Man

(Yelroch Stevens)

Trucking man is a song about one man's love for what he does. He's a trucking man working for himself who loves the open road and not being tied down by anything mundane. He makes his own hours, his own rules and lives for the day.

Drive late into the night Get up at the crack of dawn Got my radio on and it’s playing a country song Living a life most won’t understand A hard working, hard driving trucking man I’m where I belong Sleep when I get tired Drive when I feel alright Got an eighteen wheeler king size for the night Got no place to call my own Open roads are where I roam From daybreak to midnight Chorus I never really felt the urge to settle down I’m a trucking man and my wheels go round and round If there’s a better life out there Then mister you take care Cause the cargo in the back is eastbound Drive all day on an open road to somewhere Then head back the way I came to nowhere Country music on a CD Trucking family on the CB From Goldilocks to Teddy Bear Honk when you have too But don’t pretend to be tough ‘Cause if I stop this rig I’ll show you man enough Nice guy most of the time Takes little to change my mind But if you dare I’m rough stuff. And when I’m feeling lonely There’s a truck stop near by I’ll pull in for the night and give some things a try A redhead or brunette And a dance they won’t forget Just a big and handsome trucking guy Chorus I never really felt the urge to settle down I’m a trucking man and my wheels go round and round If there’s a better life out there Then mister you take care Cause the cargo in the back is eastbound Drive all day on an open road to somewhere Then head back the way I came to nowhere Country music on a CD Trucking family on the CB From Goldilocks to Teddy Bear It’s a solemn life I live But I love it all the same On these long and winding roads I will remain From the West coast to east Just me and my mighty beast Two wild engines that can’t be tamed My life is my rig A bread and butter deal I chose this life for me and it’s real Got no boss to answer too Just trucking as truckers do Best part of my day is the wheel Chorus I never really felt the urge to settle down I’m a trucking man and my wheels go round and round If there’s a better life out there Then mister you take care Cause the cargo in the back is eastbound Drive all day on an open road to somewhere Then head back the way I came to nowhere Country music on a CD Trucking family on the CB From Goldilocks to Teddy Bear Keep trucking on Keep trucking on Got the radio on and its playing a country song Keep trucking on Keep trucking on I’m where I belong

Gone Again

By Yelroch Stevens

Gone Again is about a man who has dealt with his wife's addiction in the past. So when she packs up again to chase her dreams he already knows the outcome. He doesn't want to be that guy who just gives up, but with two young girls he would rather close the book than go back to a previous chapter that wasn't good for anyone.

A Hard Drinking Gambling Man

By Yelroch Stevens

A hard drinking gambling man is a song about loss. How ones addictions can take away everything they hold dear. And when all the good is gone, all you have left are the demons that chased them off. But we only start counting our losses in life when theirs nothing left to lose.

Thymian ist kein Tee

By Jones Lyrics

Genre/Style I was thinking of: Indi-Pop, Singer/Songwriter, Indi-Electronic, Alternative Artist(s) I was thinking of: Kraftklub, Von Wegen Lisbeth, Bilderbuch, Kawa Kawa,... Comments: Typische Pop-Struktur. Pre-Chorus statt Bridge. Die Pfeife im Chorus ist eine Anspielung auf René Margrites' Kunstwerk: "Ceci n'est pas ue pipe". Viel Spaß beim Performen!

Still Thinking Of You

By Jenny Yu

The process of moving on from a lost relationship is never linear and it is different for every individual. There will be good days and there will be days where you relapse and it feels like you're back at square one. This song reflects on a personal experience in moving on from heartbreak and the inner battles that my mind underwent to get through this stage of my life.

After you were gone

By Howard Aronson

This is a lyric about my grandfather, who is my best friend growing up. He was a self-made man, who had his own business as an electrician, and took me out to help him and taught me so many different lessons. If only I remembered those lessons and I didn't realize a lot of things that he taught me until after he was gone. I think if he could see me now he'd be very proud but there were times when he was alive that I was using and couldn't understand it and I'm sure after he was gone and he looked down at me and saw me abusing my life that he was saddened and could not explain why a fine young man who had all the abilities in the world to do anything he wanted, would throw away his life like that. I really miss my grandfather today, and I really reach back and try to take away things that he taught me and put them to use in my life today
