Yelroch Stevens

Yelroch Stevens is a country man at heart. His lyrics play out like any day in our lives. He writes about everyday topics; be it from lost love, new love, addiction, loss, hardship or just the sheer enjoyment of living and doing whatever it is you love to do. He writes for, and about people. Letting them know that whatever hardship they may be dealing with, they are not alone. Whatever joys lift you up; he gets that too. His lyrics can be happy, they can be sad; sometimes it's a little bit of both rolled into one. His lyrics are like short, but powerful stories; simple but with great impact.

Open the door is a song about an alcoholic whose wife always locks him out of the house whenever he returns home drunk. He garners an audience most of the time, and is always begging to get into his own home.
Gutted Soul is a song about being homeless. A non existence that one really has to live before they can understand the magnitude of being invisible, while still breathing the same air as those who continue to ignore them.
Between a rock and a hard place is a song about being born into already bad situations. Daddy was a con and Ma was working girl. What did you think was going to happen. Some times there's just no way out and we play the hand we're dealt. Sometimes we win, most times we lose.
Melody is a love affair, pure and simple. Man loves girl and describes her as the music of his life. She is his whole world and he hopes the music she brings will play on forever.
The fool I am is a song about a broken relationship. It's an on and off romance where one side is always leaving for greener pastures, but when the weeds begin to show they always run back and are accepted without question. Love can make you do strange things, but true love, even if one sided can last forever.
