A song done in that innocent 60s style about a breakup in which the one being broken up with intends to hide their feelings of sadness from showing. A simple pronoun change can make it work for anyone. The song begins with a verse / intro, like many classic broadway numbers, to set the scene.

Shadow Of Love is about meeting your soulmate and the purest form of love one can experience.

A couple of years ago I spent some time in Mariposa, a small town in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada in California. Each week the local newspaper would publish a resume of the incidents, provided by the County Sheriff’s Office, that occurred in and around the town during that week. In this song, a member of the Sheriff’s Office has discovered that his wife doesn’t love him anymore. In the first part he is leaving to get to work, he’s in the car, listening to the radio and thinking of what had been happening. The second part is a list of his work during that week that will end up appearing in the local paper. Life in its mundanity and sadness.

The trusty ‘whodunnit’. The book that has fascinated and filled people’s empty hours. We all like a mystery and this is my précis of the genre. Like music uses twelve notes to create a myriad of songs, crime fiction conjures up a million twists to a limited number of plots.
