The Class Reunion
We've all been there- the class reunion, when everyone tries to show they've been reinvented new and glamorous. At this class reunion, though, the narrator is upstaged by a couple of sisters he'd insulted so many years before. A comic take on what is often a comic situation.

Pounding down doubles at the class reunion
Wishing I was in hell instead
When in strut the sisters I’d once told
I’d kick out both sides of my bed
My memory must have betrayed me
My tastes back then must have been flawed
‘Cause when they stepped out on the floor
All I could think was “Oh my God”.
Chorus:
It’s two-bit horseshit
Hey look at the half-wit
I was getting up for it
Ready to get down to it
They told me to get over it
Said go crawl back under it
It’s two-bit horseshit
I’m looking like an idiot.
Stiletto heels and leather skirts
Diamonds big as tangerines
Brand-new bodies brand-new faces
Lines of credit near obscene
Payback’s a bitch or maybe two
And they were there to settle scores
The prom queen’s belly drew a laugh
The halfback’s hairpiece hit the floor.
Chorus
They made the rounds, they made it clear
They’d grabbed the nose-ring of success;
Repaying heartbreaks tat for tit
The crimes to which we won’t confess.
I took the plunge, “Remember me?”
I fumbled through a forward pass.
They told me Graduation day was
The last time I had any class.
Chorus
Their limo finally hit the road
Left shell-shock, not an afterglow
We all agreed we’d meet again
When hell hit sixty-five below.
I learned a lesson from it all
Keep track of those who shine you on
Because you never can predict
How fun they’ll be to step upon.
Chorus
