Alcohol is a depressant
But I won’t suppress it
How comes it relieves my stress?
Yet, an anti-depressant
There’s no affect and
I’ve tried everything
From liquor to pill bottles
The pain isn’t easing up any
Even whiskey and henny
Mixed with codeine does nothing for me
Taking in drugs on the street
To shoot up
Feeling good for about one week
Close to homeless
Chemical induced happiness
Is momentary, starstruck
I’m hopeless
Eventually, the sky high flies and lands on the ground
And you’re hit, thrown back to the real world
Suddenly looking at your palms, in front of you, facedown
On the pavement and it’s rough
Sometimes wounds open and fatal scratches can’t be saved
And intentional crashes won’t wait for you, or anybody
It only takes a couple of seconds
Because time won’t stop
For anyone
No matter what
You'll remain confused and dazed
Fall back on crack
A drug addict on Prozac
