Günter, das Krokodil, denkt oft an zu Haus. Er wohnt im Hamburger Zoo, doch schon bald reißt er aus. Er will nicht die Elbe, das ist nicht dasselbe. Er will als Krokodil nur den Nil und keinen Ersatz.

Es ist viel zu kalt in Hamburg, es hat keinen Zweck.
Keiner wird ihn daran hindern, auch nicht Hagenbeck. 
Er muss hier weg. 
Schon mit dem nächsten Schiff will er nach Afrika. 
Dort ist es wunderbar. 
Er war schon einmal da.

Und wieder fallen Krokodilstränen in den Sand. 
Nein, er will hier nicht bleiben in diesem kalten Land. 
Er braucht den Strand,
Palmen, Meer und auch den tropischen Regenwald.
Es ist hier viel zu kalt.
Darum flüchtet er bald. 

Bridge:
Sie haben ihm im Zoo jetzt Palmen hingestellt. 
Und es scheint so, als ob Günter das gut gefällt.
Und die Heizung haben sie ihm auch angemacht. 
Keine Krokodilstränen mehr, 
Weil Günter jetzt nur noch lacht.
