I Can't Find the Words

(Brian Hendrix)

It's hard to compliment someone sometimes or to tell someone how you really care. You can think of the words but often can't say them. This is just a song about that.

Your love is like a flower Nah, let's scribble that out Hell, girl, I'm not too sure what I'm even writin' down Maybe you're like good medicine Could be my saving grace Forget I even thought that, now I'm all red in the face How'd them poets do this; I'm not sure Got so many things to tell you, but I can't find the words (Chorus) And I can't find the words to say I love you Not too many rhyme well with your name Like the sun that makes the halo shine above you I can't do you justice, and that's a shame Many men have spoken so damn high about your eyes Armies, legions, batteries, 'cause they all recognized What you're worth... I do too, I just can't find the words Maybe I'll get a whiskey I write better when I'm drunk I'll probably just pass out and wake up back in a funk Turn on a few old love songs And see what they inspire Now I'm jealous how they did it, should never have inquired Break out my pad of adjectives and verbs Stare at it for hours, and I still can't find the words (Chorus) (Bridge) Some are short, some are long Some are hard to spell But none I find fit in this song To sing to you, oh well... (Chorus)

Come Across Like a Cowboy

By Brian Hendrix

Someone with whom I was speaking told me that I can come across a little rough, "like a cowboy," and I had to write that song. I am super excited about how this turned out. It's a really good song. A few notes to anyone who might buy this. It's not going to work in your head unless you get the cadence. "Since I wound up alone" would be two slow syllables: "A-lone." "I don't like this seclusion, baby" - would be a long, drawn out "seclu...sion" "Keeps me whistling time" - the "whistling" is broken down into three slower syllables: whis-ell-en.

Kimberly

By Brian Hendrix

I don't know if there are any songs written about a girl named Kimberly. I just got inspired one night I couldn't sleep, and that line was playing in my head: "Oh, Kimberly, I can't believe..." and so I wrote a song.

Good friends

By Howard Aronson

This lyric is about some really good friends from high school, when we got together at a reunion. These guys were some of the best friends I've ever had, and in about being in high school and some of the best times I've ever had. They were never any worries during my high school days. All I did was have fun, date women, and play a lot of sports. Our futures were all ahead of us, and some made out better than others. But the saying is true that sometimes good friends go awry and they'll always come back to you. Good friends are hard to find. I still stay in touch with a couple of these guys today, and I cherish that relationship.
