Everyday Love
As art and music can often be about extraordinary tales of passion and heartache, I thought I would attempt to write a lyric that celebrated the ordinary and how deep, meaningful, and passionate that can actually be.

I know I like to talk, but love, you shouldn’t listen
You know I ain’t got much to say in the ways of wisdom
Not got much to promise in what I can bring
All I can promise you is I’ll give you the little things
You’d think that love, to be real, has to beat hard at your chest
But what comes of the beat when your heart needs to rest
In the morning I see the sunlight crawl across your skin
They say the heartaches stronger, but if it is, then I give in
Chorus:
I know art that will tell you
We just ain’t suffered enough
But how can this be ordinary if
This is everyday love
It’s everyday love
Last night you were out throwin’ ya arms around the world
But I’ll take the pain that’s caused you, take the hurt you held,
Screw it up in a ball and roll it away
Take the dark of the night and throw it into day
All the words and the notes say the scars will make you tough
The lines painted on your body are a route back to love
But the days seem to speed as if they are running
We don’t got time to rewind over conflicts of nothing
Chorus:
I know art that will tell you
We just ain’t suffered enough
But how can this be ordinary if
This is everyday love
It’s everyday love
Middle 8/Break:
All the poets write
And the singers sing
To create passion, you got to feel
What the heartache brings
But my ache without you
Is a cross that hangs heavy
Like an artist sees the beauty
In the ordinary
Chorus:
I know art that will tell you
We just ain’t suffered enough
But how can this be ordinary if
This is everyday love
It’s everyday love
Everyday, Everyday, Everyday
It’s everyday love
All the way, all the way, all the way
To everyday love
This is everyday love
