Victim

(Howard Aronson)

This lyric is about our government and how they treat our veterans, our homeless, and people with mental illness. It's specifically Target the veterans, because they usually fall into both the homeless and mental illness categories. It's a shame that when veterans come home from defending their country they are treated with such negligence and are an afterthought for our government. This lyric is about a guy named Bobby who came home from the war and found out all too well the real welcome he was going to get.

Bobby came home To a hero's parade And it wasn't very long Till people forgot what he gave He moved in with his parents Cuz he had no place to call his own The government let him down Bobby thought, what was the use in coming home Just another veteran Lost in the system His benefits are lacking Of the war he was a victim How can our country Forget about these women and men They thought they'd be free Instead they hit a dead end They gave Johnny a medal Thanked him for his service Then the government hit the pedal And left him alone feeling nervous Just another veteran Lost in the system His benefits are lacking Of the war he was a victim He was a victim of circumstance It's just the way things are He risked his life For a fucking bronze Star Now I can't believe it He said he would do it again Bobby loves his country It's something he'll always defend Just another veteran Lost in the system His benefits are lacking Of the war he was a victim

Good friends

By Howard Aronson

This lyric is about some really good friends from high school, when we got together at a reunion. These guys were some of the best friends I've ever had, and in about being in high school and some of the best times I've ever had. They were never any worries during my high school days. All I did was have fun, date women, and play a lot of sports. Our futures were all ahead of us, and some made out better than others. But the saying is true that sometimes good friends go awry and they'll always come back to you. Good friends are hard to find. I still stay in touch with a couple of these guys today, and I cherish that relationship.

Oh Tannis

By Howard Aronson

This lyric is about a girl named Tannis, who I met when I was 23 living in San Francisco. She was truly my first woman that I ever fell in love with. She was from British Columbia, and was only living in San Francisco on a visa to go to college. I knew one day that she would leave to go back, and that our love would probably be no more. Even to this day, at 63 years old, I think about her, and what might have been if she didn't have to go back to Canada.

Love and peace

By Howard Aronson

This lyric is about how sadness outweighs happiness, how love is outweighed by hurt, how peace is outweighed by stress. I know for me, for a long time I had no love in my heart for myself or anyone else. I couldn't find peace or happiness in my life either I did believe though, that one day I would find love and peace, I would find happiness. If I stopped listening to the lies in my head, I knew that I could get to the other side of that, and find that happiness, love and peace that I was looking for

Nothing is said

By Howard Aronson

This lyric is about being unappreciative, or not saying thank you for the gifts that you've been given. God gives us many gifts in life, he puts a smile on her face when we're sad he puts money in your pockets when you're broke he puts love in your heart when it's empty. Many times people say nothing when someone deserves a thank you. It's lies in your head that tell you to stay silent and not recognize the gifts that you've been given.

Biloxi country

By Edward McBride

This song is about a young man rejected by his father and never given any love. His only escape was his guitar which he had to hide as his father would have sold it. This Mississippi boy aims for the stars and his goal of getting to Nashville, learning his craft in the honky-tonks, dive bars, and anywhere else that affords him the opportunity to play and sing.
