In the hours that made you leave All the world was caving on me I didn’t have a way to say The world was turning on me Only didn’t want you to leave Please forgive me It wasn’t you Just didn’t know how to please And the world was so cold Didn’t realize what was reality or me Were we worthy of being saved? With all our fears and insecurities Just please forgive me Just please forgive me Just please forgive me Did I have something to hide I know you were trying to find Were they only secrets I hear? Redemption is too easy to please While I stumble as life seemed Just please forgive me Just please forgive me Just please forgive me Running towards you and me It is the only thing I see Just wanted us to meet between Only wanted peace for you and me But it’s path was only a mirror of me Just please forgive me Just please forgive me Just please forgive me

Your Songs From Me

Ol' No. 7 (Whiskey From Tennessee)

By Brian Hendrix

This is my baby. I post this reluctantly. Though nonetheless I'll post it. Long story short: I ran into an old buddy whose wife had left him years ago. He's still around, but a shell of himself and drunk. I woke up at 4a.m. one morning and jotted this down in notepad; it still gives me chills when I read it or sing it. It's a true country song. Though in the same vein as someone like Townes, take note of the verse-chorus hybrid structure, wherein the chorus starts via picking up tempo and vocalization after the second bar in each verse. It's about Jack Daniels, FYI.
