The Thorn of Misery
This piece is about a man seemingly cursed like the Job of the biblical days. This details his descent in unbelieve. The lyrics are doom/death metal inspired. My most honest piece of literature to date. Not really rhyme schemed as to retain the authenticity of mood portrayed by work. Second verse follows AAAA but nothing after so I will listed as no rhyme scheme. Unlike the story in the bible where God did answer Job. Here we see the man cry out from his personal thorn plaguing his life. There was no response!!!

Burdens... a head crowned with his dread
Arrayed in evening, my setting sun-
Will never morn nor will shadows succumb
To the light that once forced my eyes to see
God has never relieved me of woe
Yet devils drink the scarlet of my soul
I'm a gazelle running from a hunter's bow
No shoulder to bear my weeping willow
Never have a courted pain like this!
I'm native to sorrow like a stillborn
Take this agony, I ask of thee.
Must I feel this thorn of misery?
I'm a modern Job
Struck in god awful pose. Come now!
Thrash me by bedside
No err hath I obliged. Sift now!
Roam this wretched earth as a beggar
This blinding veil stretches on for miles
A struggle long since climbing out mother's womb
Take this pity, & grant me reprieve
If I could seize Him by His snowflake hem
I'd let it's grace hush me like a newborn child
The righteous cup runneth plenty so a psalmist writes
A little while & the wicked will perish inheriting night
If guilty then slay Your child, and comfort me
I hoped for an audience with the Almighty
No whirlwind of answers, hope falls in tranquil sleep
Robe of misery, draped upon me
Kept me company
The crackling of saddened leaves
Trampled underfoot out here, in melancholy
The pain came in like a hungry thief
If You're real, please say, "follow Me"
Some claim one washed clean in the pool of Siloam in Jerusalem
Lies... lies!
In reality dirt coveted all of the earth
Cries... cries!
