ATOMS

(Melanie Thompson)

Some people believe that what one human being does can affect another human being. Even if they are great distances apart. These lyrics take that idea and shrink it.

Verse 1. I was sitting on an atom. Minding my own math. Planning my next move. Choosing my next path. Across the open vaccum, what creatures call deep space, appeared a treking star. It seemed to be in chase. I leaped atop the star and ground it to a halt. I threw my atomic weight around and beat it to a pulp. I really had no reason to go to critical mass. The thing it had been chasing? I never thought to ask. Chorus. Atoms have pixels and pixels. Send morse code signals to all the eternal helms of the universe. Parading hard problems. Like us, try to solve them. Their choices decide where we go in our universe. As we traverse. Attached to this Earth. Verse 2. I was munching on a photon. Swallowing the light. Dining out to celebrate. Drinking in the night. Across the open universe, what creatures call deep space, appeared a choking patron. That seemed to be the case. I leaped atop the patron. I hit him in his chest. Pulled out the gaseous substance. Then sat him down to rest. He thanked me for my kindness while struggling to breathe. He paid for my whole meal to compensate my deed. Chorus. Atoms have pixels and pixels. Send morse code signals to all the eternal helms of the universe. Parading hard problems. Like us, try to solve them. Their choices decide where we go in our universe. As we traverse. Attached to this Earth. Verse 3. I was sleeping in a hole. Tired from my day. Oblivious to purpose. Holding back decay. Across the open blackness, what creatures call deep space, appeared a pretty girl. I thought to give her chase. I leaped atop her essence. We bonded through the night. Her curves were thick and lucious. They brought me great delight. We fell in love as atoms do. We went on holiday. We made a baby Adam. With squirts of DNA. Chorus. Atoms have pixels and pixels. Send morse code signals to all the eternal helms of the universe. Parading hard problems. Like us, try to solve them. Their choices decide where we go in our universe. As we traverse. Attached to this Earth.

Chainsaw Selma

The fiddle is a beautiful instrument. Though it is sometimes referred to as a "saw". The sounds that come from it are themselves quite beautiful. But in the wrong hands instead of beauty it brings death. Yes, my friends, the fiddle played the wrong way or by the wrong person can kill. Read these lyrics if you don't believe me.

These lyrics come from personal experiences. They brought back some really bad times. But they are merely shadows. I am a better person having outlasted them.

These lyrics describe how I feel about nosey people. And what I am thinking when they stick their noses in my life. Can anyone relate? I think so.

Curls (Girly Girl)

By Annabel Chima

This lyric specifically uplifts 'Exotical' women - women who are Mixed-race (with Black/African/Caribbean), women who have lived the 'Mixed-race Experience', or those who are constantly sought after/fetishized for 'looking Mixed'. As a DSE (Dark(er)-Skinned Exotical) myself, this Song Lyric is important to me because my phenotype and aesthetic have always been the centre of discussion/attention/speculation, especially in a sexual way. I want other Exoticals, whether Light-Skinned, Brown-Skinned, or Dark-Skinned, to feel understood and uplifted in a validating and empowering way. This Lyric focuses on 'curly hair' (type 2 waves, but more specifically type 3 curly hair) which is often a phenotype that gets fetishized by men and women of other races/phenotypes. This fetish is also seen through people trying to look like us e.g. wearing our natural curls as wigs and/or wand curling their own hair to mimic ours etc. The celebrity women I mention in this song are ICONS to me and are a great representation of 'Exotical' Beauty. I am solely giving them homage. This Song Lyric was also mildly inspired by the Exotical Movement (EGTOW) and it could be seen as 'political' but it is absolutely NOT political - it is solely to uplift Exoticals (with said phenotype). A little bit cheeky, but fun. Suitable for the following Genres: Hip-hop, RnB, Rock, Rap.

SHE NEVER WENT DOWN THAT BEATEN TRACK

By Adrian Mallinson

Song about feeling devastated after the passing of a very special person who was original and not in any way part of the speed and greed that characterise modern life. Inspired after reading a poem by William Wordsworth on a similar theme.
