Verse 1. Deep sea diver swims in the water. The tank on his back has no air. Conserves every bubble. He knows he's in trouble. If only he'd remembered to carry a spare. Chorus. The Risk-Taker's Wife spends most of her life in thought, deep thought with little appetite. Won't sleep till you're home. Bites her nails when you're gone. She loves you in spite, in spite of her fright. Verse 2. Steep rock climber hangs on the mountain. The rope in his hands has no grip. Observes every inch of the rope as it slips. If only he had packed a chute for this trip. Chorus. The Risk-Taker's Wife bought a burial site. In case, just in case you're to never reunite. Keeps your WILL in a file. Has the morgue on speed dial. She waits and waits for the day that you fail. Verse 3. Weekly stock buyer hides in his office. His pick for the day has left him poor. Curses the losses. Explains to his bosses why the stock fell below, far below what it costed. Chorus. The Risk-Taker's Wife has a pre-arranged flight to a place, a far place out of your sight. She saw a lawyer last June. He said he'd win her the moon, in a fight, legal fight to defend all her rights. Verse 4. Creepy two-timer awakes in a bed. His condom lies wet on the floor. Deserves a cruel outcome, says the man with the shotgun. He is dead before reaching the door. Chorus. The Risk-Taker's Wife has another new life with a man, a good man gentle and polite. She has two healthy boys. Named them Henry and Roy. Her future now bright in spite of her plight.

Suburban Boy Scout

By Melanie Thompson

I always wanted to be a Girl Scout. I never got the chance though. The organization wasn't available where I lived. However, The Boy Scouts were. My brother was a Boy Scout. These lyrics are not meant in any way to shade The Boy Scouts. Just the opposite. Without The Boy Scouts my brother would have more than likely ended up in prison or dead.

Ghost Kids

By Melanie Thompson

Every kid wants to be a superhero. And as adults, we should help them with that dream. I grew up loving Batman and Wonder Woman. Some ADULT comic writers just want to be rich. Nothing wrong with wanting to be successful. But they fill pages and pages with pure trash. Evil things should be written about. But why make the evildoers the good guys?

Kleptomaniac Jack

There is always a reason why people do bad things. And it's never their own fault. Blame it on your pain. That seems to work best when you are confronted with the consequences of your action. It worked for me. Then I grew up.

Gotta break out

By Adrian Mallinson

A song about someone finding it increasingly difficult to cope with the pressures of modern, urban existence and the constant struggle to get by in an environment that often feels like a war zone. A need to escape, to break out and find a place to recover and take stock.

Whispers of the Cosmic Ballet

By Edward McBride

I have tried to create a dreamlike atmosphere throughout the lyrics. The connection between the individual and the cosmos is expressed --the idea of finding grace, learning to fly, and navigating life's ebbs and flows resonates with a sense of hope and resilience. In the outro, it invites the reader to join in the cosmic dance and embrace the dreams that lie within the whispers of the night

Famous

By Howard Aronson

This is a lyric about a relationship with a potential star, who becomes one. As the relationship goes along and the person becomes a bigger star they leave, and when they return there's always less of them that comes back. The person who isn't the star knows that the days are numbered and they will leave one day for good. The only good thing about it was that person got famous from the other. Famous for being the other one in the relationship. Even though they should have known better to get involved and stay in the relationship, they did.
