A duet I wrote. Might be hard to grasp via text, reading both parts, but I really like it. Of all the hundreds of songs I've written over the years, only a handful have given me chills when singing them aloud. This is one of them. It's one of those songs where after I wrote it, I had to go check online to make sure I didn't just plagiarize a hit song stuck in my head. Nope. It's all mine. Enjoy. Also note: "Him:" and "Her:" and "Both:" aren't part of the lyrics; they're just stamps to let you know which gender is singing which part.
This song describes the instant chemistry between a man and a woman and his great surprise at her wild love making.
This song describes the joy and ecstasy of a guy who thinks that he has found the love of his life. Their thoughts on how this relationship will progress are in stark contrast to one another.
Was hier als harmloses, plattdeutsches Liebeslied beginnt, entpuppt sich zuletzt als ein Lied für unseren Herrn. - Aber es bleibt immer ein Liebeslied!
I'm near 40, wrote this one in my early 20s, and it was my first contest placement. A buddy of mine named Leroy was a songwriter, and one day I brought him my stuff. He said he liked it, but my verses were too long, like pages - like Bob Dylan thought "Maybe these songs aren't long enough." And he said I should hone things down, so this is the first song I ever wrote in the typical accepted format. It's just about a busy couple who don't have time to spend together, so they decide to make the time.
