I'm so tired, so tired
worn out by the day
a family full of drama
rolls out like a play
if not one then the other
a constant pantomime
a comedy of errors
As I watch it all unwind
I am the peacemaker
when they start to fight
the referee they need
to say which one is right
I'm the unpaid taxi driver
who goes the extra mile
the one who buys the clothes
so they can go in style
I am the ear that listens
their nurse when they are down
the one they can rely on
to always be around
if they grow to decent folk
with common sense and kind heart
I will be happy in the knowledge
that I played my part
