Standing at the altar waiting for my bride teardrops in my eyes the proudest tears I've cried waiting to hear those doors open the music start to play all our new beginnings were going to start today then those doors opened but no music played wondered for a moment if my wedding was delayed silence turned to mumbles that echoed around the room I turned and faced the crowd with a feeling of impending doom two strangers approached me took me to one side explained there'd be no wedding I had lost my bride a speeding car had jumped the light took her life away the lovely bride instantly died on this her wedding day I looked the strangers in the eyes I had no breath to talk couldn't understand, then tried to stand had no legs to walk a beautiful girl, stolen from my world on our wedding day all our new beginnings ended here today.

Opfer der Zeit

By Roland Köhler
