God Made the Whiskey

(Brian Hendrix)

A simple, fun song about whiskey. It has some obvious religious undertones and it structured around the idea of faith; though that the song is saying "God made the whiskey" is more or less a testament to how good the writer thinks whiskey is and not necessarily literally claiming God made it.

As I sit here tonight and I drink her away With a potion that's rough and yet smooth A thought lingers in, wonderin' how it was made How could such grace flow into this fool Then my ears hear the choir, those bright lights dim And I know right then, it was made by Him... (Chorus) God made the Heavens and the earth The seas, the trees, the dirt The mountains and the flowers And then he brought in the breeze He made the stars and all the birds The roamin' buffalo herds Breathed life in two people And that's our history But Adam needed something strong to deal with Eve So then God made the whiskey There's a girl 'cross the bar, she ain't lookin' at me She just stares at an empty wine glass Lord, be it my charge to buy her a drink Convert her to bourbon, no questions asked May all of her sins be now burned away Out ye damn demons, and let the angels play... (Chorus) (Bridge) I bow my head and get to prayin' Thank you for corn mash and oak barrel agin' (Chorus)

Hotel Jesus

By Brian Hendrix

Another I wrote as more tongue-in-cheek, but it carries a good message for those who are religious. This is about a man of faith who runs a small little hotel off the beaten path, and folks have taken to calling it the "Hotel Jesus," due to the ambiance and level of faith displayed by its owner.

Yes to the Ring

By Brian Hendrix

A little funny and quirky, but also something relatable for many. This is about a man who asked his girlfriend to marry him, and she said yes. But after so long seeing her in love with the ring, and sort of ignoring him, he begins to think that she only said yes to the ring.

Who's That Man

By Brian Hendrix

I love a good baseball song. There have been quite a few that really stand out for me. This is a baseball song, but it goes much deeper. It's about a boy who plays baseball with his friends over the summer, and the same old man is always in the stands rooting them on. Who is that man? The song eventually reveals the mystery.

Her Callous Heart

By Brian Hendrix

A song about a guy who can't get over his former woman. How he feels for her has sort of shaped his life, and he just chalks everything wrong in his life up to her callous heart and her decision to leave. It works from the opposite perspective to, just switching it to "his" callous heart et al.

SCUMBAG!

By Karianne Gabaldon

I can’t stand scumbags... can’t we all though? This is for all of the people who have messed with our hearts just for hook ups, or whatever wrong they have done to you.

Ich mach mir Sorgen!

By AQUABA

Das ist ein besinnlicher Text, der auch traurig stimmt, unsere Welt ist nicht mehr was sie war, überall Chaos und Verderben, die Menschen sind aus der Bahn geworfen, der Zug entgleist, wo geht die Reise noch hin?

Dachterasse

By Jones Lyrics

Deutscher Heart-Break-Rnb.
