Never Would Break Your Heart
I haven't written a serious song in a while. This one popped in my head when I was least expecting it, and it sort of wrote itself how it wanted to be. It's a relatively short song, but I do like what it's saying. It's basically a man telling a woman all the things he'll never be, as to not get her expectations up. Though one of those things he'll never be also includes a man that will break her heart.

I'll never be an astronaut
I'll never be the President
I'll never be a war hero, layin' his life on the line
Being anything but hesitant
I'll never be a millionaire
I'll never get a brand new start
But I'll never be like the man you loved before me
'Cause I never would break your heart
(Chorus)
Yeah, baby, I know who I am
And I sure know who I ain't
The love I give was made to heal
I ain't made to make you ache
I'd give anything to let you know joy
Don't you worry 'bout falling apart
Let old memories die out and fade
'Cause I never would break your heart
I'll never own a jet airplane
I'll never sail all seven seas
I'll never be so brave to fire the first shot
'Cause I refuse to live on my knees
I'll never be a movie star
I'll never paint world-famous art
And I'll never be like the man who hurt you so
'Cause I never would break your heart
(Chorus x2)
