Inspired by the USA political madness that is going on today. Reminds me a little of the Bob Dylan days.
There was a time I think when the world ran much more peacefully and there weren't wars or violence and material things didn't matter and everything wasn't a competition to see who was better than one another, a time where people helped one another without asking for it that's just what they did because they genuinely felt love and compassion and unity amongst each other, but then something happened along the way that poisoned our hearts and our souls and what was once love, mutated into hate and angst and the urge to destroy one another just to satisfy thier own needs and somehow maybe one day through a miracle we can get back to getting along and living peacefully and happily with each other.
Wrote this with the idea in mind and I don't know if there's any truth to it but it seems like at times everyone around me is lifeless, like I'm living amongst a bunch of living mannequins and trying to find meaning and purpose coexisting with a world filled with dull emotionless robots and trying to connect in some way to something real, something pure, and something positive and loving.
Sometimes I feel like we as humans were put on this Earth as some sort of punishment like Earth is a giant prison, a giant cage, trapped here until we figure out what we did to end up here, to figure out what went wrong and fix the error of our ways and our savage nature as violent selfish beings.
When you spend so much time building up a life for yourself and Everytime it falls down, it collapses like a house of cards but come to find out there wasn't anything wrong with what you were doing or have been doing, you were just made to feel like you were doing wrong like you needed to change something but you were secretly falling victim to a system that only allowed you to see what they wanted you to see.
