Just a friend

(Howard Aronson)

I'm sure all of us have been infatuated, and lust, or even in love with somebody but it didn't work out that way it was never even romantic for a day or if it was it was only for weeks months or maybe even a day. Even though you're just a friend, a position that's never really too comfortable, you come to accept that and cherish it. That's what this lyric is about. My ex-girlfriend and I are best friends today, and she's getting married soon and I'm happy for her he's been really good to me as a friend and I think that I've reciprocated as well. We have a unique relationship that very few get to experience, and I'm very grateful that I have this relationship with her today.

From the moment I met you I knew you were the one But that's not you felt You were just looking for fun To you I was just a friend I just didn't see it Cuz I was in love Yeah, the pieces didn't fit No matter how hard I tried To fit a square into a hole I was just a friend It was out of my control Just a friend That's all I'll ever be Just a friend You're so special to me Just a friend That I'm lucky to have Just a friend The best I've ever had

Run

By Howard Aronson

This lyric is about a girl that I dated and the relationship that we were in. In one word it was toxic. I thought about calling the song toxic, and maybe I'll write another lyric with that title. But I just remember that all I needed to do was get out of there fast just run. I'm sure everybody's been in a relationship like that at one point in their life whether it was romantic or just platonic, or whatever.

Pleasure

By Howard Aronson

This lyric is about a girl I knew a while back in my life. Everything about her was such a pleasure. I can't tell you how much I miss her, and hope someday I meet a woman like her. But time is running out for me, and maybe that's not what's meant to be for me. So I'm just writing about a time when I went to go visit her and the memory that followed.

What's it going to take

By Howard Aronson

This lyric is about the world today. I just wonder when people are going to wake up, what's it going to take for us another war another world war? We're at the point where that's ready to happen, with things the way they are in Europe today. We're on the back side of a pandemic, yet only the rich countries had access to the vaccine. Have we made a huge mistake by not helping out those poorer countries? So many more people have died then we really know, and the truth will probably never come out. The capitalists don't want us to know, and they just rubber stamp everything and go on as if nothing is wrong. If we don't do something soon the Earth will die way before it's time. Who gives a shit about sending people to the moon or Mars or even further, yeah it's cool to see pictures from a high-powered telescope to replace the Hubble. But that stuff's not so important. What's important is what's happening right now to the world. Good needs to rise up and defeat evil.

Precocious

By Howard Aronson

This lyric is about kids who think they're older than they really are, wiser and better than they really are. I like to use the word precocious not in the cute or positive sense, but more in the negative, as that's how I see the word. It's especially true today, when all our youth have no respect for the elderly or their parents or their teachers and use the internet to express themselves in a way that is negative. They think they know the world out there, when they have no clue. They think they're wise beyond their years, and they're not. It's time for them to listen to the older people who want to help them with a wonderful and successful life.

The Stallion

This song is an analogy comparing a wild stallion with young males bursting with testosterone. Told through the eyes of one woman who will not succumb to the temptation or pressure.
