Stubborn

(Howard Aronson)

This lyric is about someone who doesn't understand their stubbornness. This sort of like a martyr, and everything they do they have to feel like they've won. Losing is a word that doesn't enter into their vocabulary. They don't realize though, that it's not about winning or losing, it's about compromise. People that are stubborn, don't often compromise about anything. It's either their way or no way. Sometimes you can't see this immediately, because they hide it well and that's the point of this lyric

You once told me You're the one to beat And no matter what You wouldn't go down in defeat It was never a thought About you losing And if someone mentioned it You found it amusing Yeah, behind your disguise You had stars in your eyes And when they began to fade I came to your aid It was the price you paid You should have never stayed A dangerous game you played One that you always craved Stubborn Stubborn Stubborn You are so stubborn You had a dream That you wis had come true And when all was lost You didn't know what to do Now I don't blame you For sticking it out Cuz you've always been a fighter Yeah, that's what you're all about You could have walked away And fought another day And I know what you'd say That's not your way Yeah, behind your disguise You had stars in your eyes And when they began to fade I came to your aid It was the price you paid You should have never stayed A dangerous game you played One that you always craved You lived your life free It was the only way you knew how to be Yeah, behind your disguise You had stars in your eyes And when they began to fade I came to your aid It was the price you paid You should have never stayed A dangerous game you played One that you always craved Stubborn Stubborn Stubborn You were so stubborn

I can't take it anymore

By Howard Aronson

This lyric is about a girlfriend who's never there emotionally.. They always say they'll be there but whenever you call or try to reach out to them they disappear. This type of scenario would want to make somebody just pull their hair out, and not take it anymore. It's about a selfish person, who cares about only themselves. They know you need their support, but I totally incapable of giving it to you. Thus it's time to close the door on this relationship

Look to the sky

By Howard Aronson

This lyric is both an uplifting and positive one, and also can be a little on the negative side. It's trying to encourage somebody to forget the life that they're living and move on to a better life. It encourages them to think better thoughts and think more of themselves as a person. It encourages them to look to the sky and ask God for help, because he is the all-knowing. God heals all who asks for his help.

Last card

By Howard Aronson

This lyric is about me finding a relationship that doesn't end with me feeling down and out, one that leaves me crying. Maybe I'm trying too hard, and just have to wait until it finds me. I talk about never figuring it out, and maybe I'm not supposed to. I asked the question am I out of touch am I trying too hard, have I played my last card. I think you have to keep believing that the right relationship does exist. You just have to be patient

I want you to know

By Howard Aronson

Hysteric is about love and trust. Sometimes in life one person has to leave the other for a certain amount of time. But they always come back despite the other person's fear of them not returning. It's hard to live life without fear, but you can't let it stop you from living. You have to have trust, and rely on what what happens over time. If someone says they have to go, and they always return, you should rely on them returning again. I understand where the fear of them not returning comes in to play, but you have to work to not let it overtake you or your emotions. This lyric is about telling somebody exactly that.
