Izzy Douma is a young, independent musician that focuses on capturing the perfect story for her songs. She is also a singer, multi-instrumentalist, writer, and producer. She enjoys writing about deep, meaningful subjects, but will also write about anything that comes her way. She is comfortable writing in almost every genre, including but not limited to alternative, pop, rap, rock, indie, hip-hop, gospel, and oldie styles. Izzy enjoys thinking outside of the box and she will do anything to stay away from cliché. In her words: "I'm not afraid to expand the borders of my creativity. In my late Sophomore year of high school, I was forced to move away from the friends that were important to me. After facing the realization that I would be leaving for good, it dawned upon me that I never appreciated those friends enough. I spent my time there dealing with insecurity and fear of getting close to them. "Alone" focuses on my feelings for one friend in particular who I was always too afraid to talk to (mostly because he was popular) and the longing to see him again.
In a world full of difficult odds and uncertainty, it is difficult to rise up. This song shows the difficulty of striving to be enough and the longing to rise up.
Plastic Faces is a rap song about the struggle to live during the current pandemic. It encompasses the fear of going outside and the longing for a better, safer life. After all, who wants to breathe through a mask?
As you watch a person of interest, you are overcome with a longing to be noticed by him/her. “Like Me” narrates the actions of wishful thinking, hope, and the thought of feeling insignificant to the desired person of interest.
After leaving one's homeland without saying goodbye, the designated person is struggling with unfinished memories and sentimental longing for his/her home.
