Avalanche
This is a song about recovery from addiction. I wrote it personally for recovery from an eating disorder, but in reality it can be any addiction.
“Addiction is a monster hiding inside your closet; recovery is the flashlight scaring away that monster. Don’t ever think that scaring away that monster is impossible. What’s impossible is thinking you have to live in that sane room where your monster lies for the rest of your life. It’s time to shine; scare away that monster.”

(Verse 1)
It started with tiny fires
Then I lost hope and was tangled up in a sharp barbed wire
I couldn’t believe my eyes
But they were so blackened by the things I did and my black white lies
(PreChorus)
Just let go, it will be okay
Then I lost control, my life spent away
(Chorus)
Mascara drenched my eyes in time
To find out I lost my mind
And the steady branch
I fell, losing my stance
I’ve survived the avalanche
(Verse 2)
Then I said that I was through
But it came back to me, I had no idea what to do
So I dived deep in the pool
Only it drowned me to the point I was surrounded in cruel
(PreChorus)
My happy smile wiped off my face
With the spritz of hopelessness and mace
(Chorus)
Mascara drenched my eyes in time
To find out I lost my mind
And the steady branch
I fell, losing my stance
