The Catalyst

(Marquis Smith )

"The Catalyst" details so called religious leaders that judge others but too have missed the mark of righteousness. Partial AABB. One of my more spiritual pieces with in your face attitude. Preferred genres (but not limited to) Groove metal or Alternative metal.

[Intro] Just go! [Verse 1] Fatigued from your fatuity Your holier-than-thou philosophies Hypocritical air gets hard to breathe Self righteousness, no earthly need Well, I need calm from the storm Held your burdens with feeble arms Heart to the left, how could you be right? It dawned on the saints that sinners crawl the night [Refrain] Still think you're ripe invain, despite! Still think you're ripe invain, despite! Still think you're ripe (you're never ripe) Still think you're ripe (you're never ripe) [Verse 2] O-M-G has come to rapture trees Gather all chaff & burn the weeds Oh come now, you're venomous Go your way! Not one of us! [Chorus 1] He that has ears can't hear You (hear You) He that has eyes can't see You (see You) [Post Chorus] WOE, UNTO YOU! WOE, UNTO YOU! [Bridge] He came unto His own But His own they knew Him not You thump but can't take shots Your nails firm inside of His holy wrist This sacrifice so sufficient Without spot or blemish We could never keep the law FOR WE ARE INHERENTLY FLAWED! [Chorus Finale] He that has ears can't hear You (hear You) He that has eyes can't see You (see You) Stitch their eyes closed never to see (You) Traded the Blood for dead hope (yes you)

Her Womb, My Tomb

By Marquis Smith

Her Womb, My Tomb is about infidelity. The idea is taken from proverbs 7 which discusses adultery. The simple fool of a man cannot help himself and sleeps with another man's wife! This could be doom/gothic metal finest hour! No rhyme scheme approach here. Preferred genres (but not limited to): Doom Metal/Gothic Metal.

PHARISEE

By Marquis Smith

"Pharisee" is about someone calling out people who prey on the weak because they're not able to discern genuine from ingenuine. It's angry in nature. This also details when man is put on peddle stool and not the religious deity, something we see common today. Told in explicit fashion. There's also biblical undertone. Most of it written in classic ABAB. Inspired by Alternative Metal/Indie

*Disclaimer* This is by no means intended to demean or glorify abusive behavior of any kind. This is not intended to offend any victims who have suffered at the hands of oppressors nor do I condom any abuse to the lessor or greatest extent. Thank you. (n)Ever is about a person being abused and is helpless to do anything about it. I wrote in the perspective mindset of victim and oppressor to meld the story telling. This is meant to be very detailed but not glorify the oppressor's sickness. Written in classic AABB and ABAB in areas. Preferred genres: Alternative Metal, Atmosphere

Layers

By Annabel Chima

This lyric is all about the need for certainty in love - when you take a chance on this one person and it's risky because you may have been heart-broken before. This time, you need assurance. You have to prove you're open to love and they have to prove they are to be trusted with your heart. You gradually open yourself - your 'layers'. The overall atmosphere/vibes of the lyrics are very deep, mystical, and weirdly romantic. I purposely did not make any distinctive verses, hooks, or choruses because I wanted to leave the autonomy to the artist - the lyrics flow quite fluidly. Genres: Rnb, Hip Hop, Pop, Rap (this could be used for the melody, accompanying a rap song). These lyrics fit perfectly into the aforementioned genres.
