In The Lair Of The Lizard King

(Michael Facciani)

This lyric details the story of legendary late rock star Jim Morrison and his group The Doors. Their meteoric rise to fame, success, and stardom, and the self-destructive tendencies of their singer and his sudden demise in Paris just a few years later. Like a fireball burning out.

One sunny day Jim and Ray met on the California beach, they said number one records aren’t beyond their reach, Light My Fire tore up the chart in 1967, like a regal song right out of heaven, went all the way to number one, the day of The Doors had already begun. They appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show, and the situation got outta control, Ed declared he’d never have The Doors back on, because Jim sang forbidden words in his song. In the lair of the lizard king, nobody ever knew what tomorrow would bring. From the speakers the music did roar, into the clouds The Doors did soar, no rules for Jim and his friends any more. The group burned brightly, but not for long, there was magic in every Doors song. In the lair of the lizard king, never knew what the future would bring. Jim tried to incite riots from the stage, to break the fans outta their cage, The Doors were all the rage in ‘68, but soon came the deadly hand of fate, oh, how the mighty had fallen, all must answer when the grim reaper comes calling. But the music is still with us today, younger generations have entered the fray, Jim took his final bow in 1971, but his legend had already begun. In the lair of the lizard king, never knew what tomorrow would bring.

The Weatherman

We've all been caught in the rain and, at some point in our lives, most of us have gone from looking great to looking like drowned rats very fast. The story in these lyrics happened to a very close friend of mine (a version of it) and I couldn't stop laughing. Which just got her even more upset. Which made me laugh even more.
