Everybody's Life is a Country Song

(Brian Hendrix)

This is a song about all the things that we have in common as human beings. The love, the loss, the triumph, the let-downs, etc. In a way, everybody's life mirrors the lyrics of a country song, in some way or another.

There's a whole lot more we have in common Than the things that make us different Life's real funny in that way Like old-timers say, "Yeah, in'it" Breakups, makeups, smiles and frowns On top of a world that's upside-down And whether you know it or not, we're just like you... (Chorus) Everybody's life is a country song Might as well sing it Full of everything from loss to love And we all just keep on swingin' Back and forth, to and fro And two steps back and back you go A little bit of right, and too much wrong Everybody's life is a country song There ain't no shame in cryin' out, y'all 'Cause everybody sheds some tears Don't be afraid to laugh out loud The crowd will join in when it hears It all runs right by you too damn quick And you're tryin' to recall those things you miss Just try to keep in mind, everyone else feels the same.. (Chorus0 (Bridge) It ain't all about them rodeos Or drunken nights and trains It's about what life gives out And what it takes away (Chorus)

Chop Down Those Trees

By Brian Hendrix

A song about encouragement, more than anything. The idea is that there are always going to be things in your way, blocking your path, so when you're in a good enough place in life and able to swing your axe, go on and grab it and chop down those trees in your way.

Every Time I Sit and Write A Song

By Brian Hendrix

A song written about a songwriter who finds that every single song they end up writing, it really just brings up a ton of negative emotions and life experiences. The idea is that these things become the song, and then those feelings go away, but they still come back every time he sits to write a song.

No is an answer

By Howard Aronson

This is a weird lyric I'm not even sure the real meaning of it. I just know that for so many years I turned to drugs to find peace which is an oxymoron. I never took the word no for an answer in just about everything I did. I only wanted to hear yes, or thought that I could do anything. I realized today that no is an answer, and some things are just out of my reach. I definitely realize today that drugs was not the answer and I should have said no.

Will-O'-the-Wisp

By Melanie Thompson

Happy Halloween. This October has had some very scary days. We have mass shootings. We have war. We have in-fighting amongst the populous. Everyone seems to have a bone to pick. When I was little, I enjoyed Halloween. The costumes. The free candy. The decorations. It was fun. This Halloween not so much. Will-o'-the-Wisp is a deceiver. He is an evil that seems to be everywhere. These lyrics unmask him.
