Can't make me blue
Whimsical little love song. Hailing back to a time when life seemed a little easier and a bit less hurried. People seemed a little more friendly. We tolerated one another and had more patience. I wrote this on the screen porch on a beautiful, late spring day while listening to my lovely wife float around the house. A soft, warm breeze was lightly blowing. A hint of that summer was on it's way.
I could the late, great Ella Fitzgerald's timeless, silky voice in my head. Wishing on a star.

If the sun should slip away
And the clouds came out to stay
And it rained forever and a day
As long as I have you
My dreams will all come true
Can't make me blue
Can't make me blue
If the moon should cease to climb
And the stars forgot to shine
And if dancing in the dark became a crime
As long as I have you
We'll make each day brand new
Can't make me blue
Can't make me blue
Although it may sound awfully foolish
It doesn't matter what they say
In my heart the simple truth is
Only you can make me feel this way
If the bluebird lost its song
And the tulips waved so long
And the earth and sky refused to get along
As long as I have you
Our love will see us through
Can't make me blue
Can't make me blue
Although it may sound awfully foolish
It doesn't matter what they say
In my heart the simple truth is
Only you can make me feel this way
It's you who makes me feel this way
If the sun should slip away
And the clouds came out to stay
And it rained forever and a day
As long as I have you
My dreams will all come true
Can't make me blue
Can't make me blue
Can't make me blue
