Singing on the corner
This is a fictional lyric about someone who's a sidewalk performer, and hoping that he makes a big someday. It's so hard to become a star at anything, even if you're good, to be a pro at it is mostly a dream and people's minds. But you can never give up, and hope that one day you'll get a chance to prove to everyone that you belong on the big stage.

He stands on the corner
Singing and playing his guitar
He's there everyday
Wishing he was a star
Guitar case on the ground
There's some bills and some change
He wakes up everyday
Knowing it's hard to reach fortune and fame
He prays everyday
That he will get his chance
Time is running out
Time is running out
He's been doing this for a while
No longer a young man
He used to have a real job
That he couldn't stand
All he needs is a chance
Someone to give him a break
He'll keep singing on that corner
If that's what it takes
The old guitar was a gift
When he was a little boy
It was for his sixth birthday
It was better than just a toy
He's been doing this for a while
No longer a young man
He used to have a real job
That he couldn't stand
He just loves singing
Doing it makes him proud
He believes one day he'll make it
He loves playing for the crowd
He prays everyday
That he will get his chance
Time is running out
Time is running out
All he needs is a chance
Someone to give him a break
He'll keep singing on that corner
If that's what it takes
All he needs is a chance
Someone to give him a break
He'll keep singing on that corner
If that's what it takes
