The man

(Howard Aronson)

This is a lyric about a rock and roll star who's trying to resurrect his career later in life. He still believes he can "the man". But he realizes once he is in the position to be the man, he can't do it. It's sad to see, but he knows the reality of the situation. He never did it for the notoriety or the for the money, he did it for the fans. But he knows that he can't perform the way he used to or wants to, and that would be a disservice to his fans. Now that he knows his career is pretty much over he packs his bags and doesn't have any destination at all.

I'm packing my bags And leaving today Don't know where I'm going I just know I can't stay I've been hanging around For way too long Nothing feels right It's all gone wrong My plan Was to be the man Now that I'm here Don't think I can It wasn't about the pressure Or the big city Nothing to do with the bright lights Or the fucking money I guess I'm checked out Time has caught up with me If I only play half ass That would be a tradgedy My plan Was to be the man Now that I'm here Don't think I can I gave it my all When I stepped on the stage It's gonna be tough To turn the fucking page It was always for you It was never about me If was up to me I would've played for free My plan Was to be the man Now that I'm here Don't think I can My plan Was to be the man Now that I'm here Don't think I can

Zip it

By Howard Aronson

This is a lyric about what a teacher used to say to me when I was in school I think it was Junior High, might even been high school. Since I was adhd, it was always in some kind of trouble or mess I definitely stood out. I also would talk out of turn, talk to people that were sitting next to me when the teacher was talking, you get the picture, why we used to say to me just zip it. I think it's a funny lyric, it shows that I had a cool personality, always had a smile on my face even though I was getting myself into some jams. It wasn't malicious trouble, more disruptive trouble.

I just can't stop

By Howard Aronson

This lyric is about when I was drinking and drugging and knowing that I had to stop but I just couldn't. It left my mind empty, numb, and void of a plan to try to end my demise. It's really hard when you're in the throes of addiction to think about it to talk about it basically to do anything about it even though you want to. It takes really some sort of arrest, and I don't necessarily mean by the law, but just some event, or bottom if you will, to hit you. I know for me, that every time I did stop it was something that happened that I really had no more choices left.

Splintered

By Howard Aronson

This lyric is about a breakup that was never seen coming. The person is left broken shattered and splintered. The way they broke up was just like it never meant anything to the other person. They're left with only thoughts, and how they gave so much to this relationship but in the end I have nothing left the show for it.

Wrong way

By Howard Aronson

This lyric is about making a decision that you shouldn't have made, late taking the wrong exit on the highway or just taking one highway as opposed to another to get where you want to go. As you're sitting in traffic the sun beating down the AC doesn't work you think of yourself shit why did I go this way. We've all had those days, and there's not a whole lot you can do about it. You have to just sit in traffic and wait for it to dissipate, and carry on to your destination. That's something that I definitely had to learn to do, without getting upset.

Broken Lullaby

By Karlo Čavlović

A broken lullaby is a metaphor for the voices in our heads telling us that we are not enough and that our life is meaningless. The lullaby symbolically tries to put you to sleep, but sleep, in this sense, is neverending. Our everyday demons try to make us believe that our sadness is forever, even though it isn't.
