Kleptomaniac Jack

(Melanie Thompson)

There is always a reason why people do bad things. And it's never their own fault. Blame it on your pain. That seems to work best when you are confronted with the consequences of your action. It worked for me. Then I grew up.

Verse 1. Pack of gum. Cigarettes. Candy bar. No regrets. Underwear. Pair of socks. Take the shirt with polka dots. Music mag. Swipe a pen. Need more ink. Then take ten. Everywhere that you go, hit another high plateau. Chorus. Kleptomaniac Jack wants it all. Kleptomaniac Jack what a haul! Kleptomaniac Jack he's a theft. But underneath, he's a really nice guy. Verse 2. Break a lock. Look around. In the house not a sound. Go upstairs. Find a gun. Need some bullets. This is fun! There's a watch and a ring. Golden chain. Bling. Bling. Everywhere that you go, feeling good. More vertigo. Chorus. Kleptomaniac Jack wants it all. Kleptomaniac Jack what a haul! Kleptomaniac Jack he's a theft. But underneath, he's a really nice guy. Bridge. Everybody has a quirk. Everyone has a way. Something different makes you special. There's a reason why we stray. See a doctor if you want to. Set aside time today. Use the trauma of your childhood. Just a victim, so they say. Verse 3. Take the gun stop a truck. Passenger, What the fuck? Hit the gas. Watch the light. Go two blocks. Take a right. Body shop. Up ahead. Have a beer with a friend. Everywhere that you go, making money to-and-fro. Chorus. Kleptomaniac Jack wants it all. Kleptomaniac Jack what a haul! Kleptomaniac Jack he's a theft. But underneath, he's a really nice guy. Verse 4. In the bed with a girl. Nutting like a squirrel. Footsteps in the hall. Her man is super tall. Leave your pants. Leave your shoes. The dude is in a mood. Everywhere that you go, it's tippy tippy-toe. Chorus. Kleptomaniac Jack wants it all. Kleptomaniac Jack what a haul! Kleptomaniac Jack he's a theft. But underneath, he's a really nice guy.

Let Me Be Blunt

By Melanie Thompson

I was scrolling the internet and happened upon a video of a mother shooting, in court, the man who murdered her 7-year-old daughter Anna, after he sexually assaulted her. The look on that mother's face was breathtaking. These lyrics were inspired by that look.

Bankers say real estate is a good investment. And having a mortgage improves your credit score. Wonder what they invest in? To me the whole banking system is corrupt. I wrote these lyrics with banks in mind. It's the pitch of a corrupt banker to a potential investor.

Some people believe that what one human being does can affect another human being. Even if they are great distances apart. These lyrics take that idea and shrink it.

Chainsaw Selma

The fiddle is a beautiful instrument. Though it is sometimes referred to as a "saw". The sounds that come from it are themselves quite beautiful. But in the wrong hands instead of beauty it brings death. Yes, my friends, the fiddle played the wrong way or by the wrong person can kill. Read these lyrics if you don't believe me.

Curls (Girly Girl)

By Annabel Chima

This lyric specifically uplifts 'Exotical' women - women who are Mixed-race (with Black/African/Caribbean), women who have lived the 'Mixed-race Experience', or those who are constantly sought after/fetishized for 'looking Mixed'. As a DSE (Dark(er)-Skinned Exotical) myself, this Song Lyric is important to me because my phenotype and aesthetic have always been the centre of discussion/attention/speculation, especially in a sexual way. I want other Exoticals, whether Light-Skinned, Brown-Skinned, or Dark-Skinned, to feel understood and uplifted in a validating and empowering way. This Lyric focuses on 'curly hair' (type 2 waves, but more specifically type 3 curly hair) which is often a phenotype that gets fetishized by men and women of other races/phenotypes. This fetish is also seen through people trying to look like us e.g. wearing our natural curls as wigs and/or wand curling their own hair to mimic ours etc. The celebrity women I mention in this song are ICONS to me and are a great representation of 'Exotical' Beauty. I am solely giving them homage. This Song Lyric was also mildly inspired by the Exotical Movement (EGTOW) and it could be seen as 'political' but it is absolutely NOT political - it is solely to uplift Exoticals (with said phenotype). A little bit cheeky, but fun. Suitable for the following Genres: Hip-hop, RnB, Rock, Rap.
