Always in our darkest hour
You shone above the rest
To show us all what life can give

When times in life seemed darkest
Even though for you the same
You raised us up to our highest heights
To help us become who we became

Never once a bad word spoken
Not a bad thought crossed your mind

When summer days had just begun
A time of future days in mind
This was the season that you left
And had to leave us all behind

With nights now shorter, the days too long
