It Ain't Rained Once
This is a weird one to explain. There's a guy who's in love with a girl, who doesn't love him back. He thinks that the fact it hasn't rained in a while is a sign that their love is meant to be, but other people are realizing that the entire world is basically ending, and he's aloof to it. In reality, all the signs are pointing and telling him that he's doomed, but he can't see it.

Well, like a foreign land
Covered in dry sand
Man, damn, it's a long ol' drought
All the grass was green
Everywhere you'd see
Now it's all just a shade of brown
Wonderin' where the storm clouds gone
The Cherokees doin' their dance and song
Feathers and fire and the smell's so strong
And I really hate to tell 'em that it's all my fault
(Chorus
'Cause it ain't rained once since I fell for her
Guess the skies dried their eyes, and don't weep for me
No lightning strikes, or thunder bowlin'
Friends, it's just as clear as it can be
The farmers are mad, the fish are floppin'
'Cause the crops are dyin' and the water's droppin'
But they all the blame the weather, it ain't occurred
That it ain't rained once since I fell for her
Well, it's a real dry heat
I'm walkin' in bare feet
The only fool whistlin' a tune
While everyone's on edge
Inchin' to that ledge
Howlin' like the moon is full
Checkin' their TVs and almanacs
Some think that Jesus is comin' back
They're payin' rain-makers in I-O-Us
And they see me happy, they're so confused
(Chorus)
