Outside my window
The seasons come and go
I watch the summer rain
Fill the winter woods with snow
A life of seasons
Framed like pictures on a wall
From my window
I've lived through spring and fall

I've seen the promise
Of early morning spring
Rouse the bird of youth
Give it song and lift it's wings
Love's budding flower
A rose beyond compare
From my window
I recall it's perfumed air

All the summers that I dreamed away
Chasing rainbows on a sunny day
Sitting in my window bay
So long ago

Now I sit and listen to the rain
As it dances on my window pane
Waiting for the wind to change
All alone

The golden memories
Of distant yesterdays
Like fallen leaves
Will soon be swept away
Scattered to the wind
Where autumn once had been
Outside my window
Another winter settles in

And when I look up at the frozen sky
I think of all the years gone by
