Cubiform, the blocks still look the same But all I do is stare Uniform, the clouds still carry rain It’s bleak, but who’s to care A refugee who’s running from behind A paradox in parallel I’ve looked for reasons I couldn’t find What once was strange I now my way Foreign skyline, you’ve become a friend to me Foreign skyline you’re home Foreign skyline, won’t repent for healing me Foreign skyline you’re home Exiled days that stutter on and on Memories, no comfort there Now I smile for friendships newly won To put some distance from those fears Try to start, don’t get smart, the skyline stays the same Even though the weather breaks and buildings move Try to start, don’t break my heart, the landscape might remain Even though your face is far and out of view Foreign skyline, you’ve become a friend to me Foreign skyline you’re home Foreign skyline, won’t repent for healing me Foreign skyline you’re home

Crowd

By Clairine T.

A relationship between two people with vastly different personalities and perspectives doesn't always work out well. When people are too different, there could never be a middle ground, and a huge rift is created that could not be crossed by themselves or anyone else for that matter. You could say that that kind of relationship is toxic, impossible to fix, that they should go their separate ways before things get worse between them. But when those two people are each other's closest companion, the fear of having no one else by their side often overrides how huge that rift is. Nothing could come out of it, but they only have each other. Though they aren't close and don't understand one another like how friends, or family, should, they are still marginally better than strangers, and sometimes that alone is enough to make them stay in that permanent stalemate.
