Ein Mann ist schon lange verliebt, traut sich aber nicht sich zu offenbaren, weil er Angst hat, dadurch die Freundschaft zur geliebten Person aufs Spiel zu setzen. Er vergleicht sich mit Ikarus, der in seinem Übermut zu hoch geflogen ist und deshalb sein Leben verloren hat.

"The Wingless Bird" contains grief & despair. Yes, this is where hope dies. The individual dreams of a better life. Forget it! He is awoken only to find reality! And we all know reality hits like a ton of bricks. Classic AABB & ABAB. Heavily inspired by Paradise Lost. Preferred genres (but not limited to) Death-doom/gothic metal.

"The hurting ones always roam unchaperoned", a rather dark sentiment that echo through the entire piece. This person feels that even hope itself has betrayed them. They feel alone and abandoned. "Don't talk me down from the ledge," the author solicits... rather literal or figurative, I'd let the reader decide. Heavily influenced by early Anathema. No rhyme pattern throughout. Their character's cry is his lost song. Preferred genres (but not limited to) gothic metal/alternative metal/experimental.
