You tore us apart

(Howard Aronson)

This lyric is about a superficial relationship that I was in. My GF at the time would never talk about what she was feeling. She never could get deep, and tell me how she really felt. Everything was always light, and my wanting of a real discussion was met with resistance and disdain. Eventually this lack of intimacy tore us apart.

Do I mean anything to you Cuz I feel so insignificant You don't even try to hide it You couldn't be more transparent Whenever we talk It's always small You kept it short And there's no substance at all You never got deep Unless you were asleep You kept things light So we wouldn't fight You lived life on the surface You were in constant denial A permanent frown on your face It was so hard for you to smile Don't know how you did it It had to be hard Living everyday With a closed heart It's what tore us apart Right from the start It's what tore us apart Right from the start You tore us apart You never got deep Unless you were asleep You kept things light So we wouldn't fight You never got deep Unless you were asleep You kept things light So we wouldn't fight You tore us apart Right from the start You always tore us apart

All alone with my phone

By Howard Aronson

When I was using drugs, I knew deep down that I was a good guy, but I might have been the only one at the time. I used to sit in my house and get high and look at my phone and wonder why no one ever called me. Besides my mom and once in awhile my sister the phone just didn't ring. It was always me who had to make an outgoing call, and sometimes the person that I called never even called back. You see, no one wants to be around someone who's doing drugs, especially when they have lots of potential, people just get fed up. That's what happened to me. So I guess the question was should I even have a phone, because what good was it. We all know that in today's day and age your phone is used for much more than just a phone call. But I could have done all that on my laptop, LOL. I guess this song has a serious tone to it as well as a quirky or comedic side. But there's nothing funny about sitting home alone doing drugs. It's a very sad existence, you're not living life at all. Above all you know it's not right, and the times you just wonder if you'll ever get out of that situation. You always thought you were a first-rate guy, but when you're doing drugs you're nowhere near first rate and maybe not even second rate.

Soul

By Howard Aronson

This lyric is about giving too much in a relationship, and then finding out that it was all in vain. I've been in these situations before or I've given way too much and was left with nothing but an empty feeling. When you give too much you lose control, and you give away your soul, you give away your dignity and self respect. I thought I was the nicest guy in the world, but she thought I was too nice, and not a "challenge". Sounds like a psychological game, and it probably is. But most times, nice guys finish last.k

The end of time

By Howard Aronson

This lyric is about the title The end of Time, something we are very close to in this world. There's so much corruption, greed and war. Senseless killings and other pillaging and purging of people's homes and countries. Now the time is near, maybe even the time has come where we all will have to pay the price as a human race. We've done so much damage to the world, and the tension in the air can be cut by a knife. Birds usually always tell us something about what might be going on within the atmosphere or if there's danger coming. And the birds are sitting in the trees, hanging out on the wires, like they did in that movie The birds. You know any minute that is going to fly away with fear, right before the end happens. We will have no time to escape. Nothing will escape. Not even God can help anymore. It's the end of Time.

Memories fade

By Howard Aronson

This lyric is about a guy who was in love and still is in love with a person from their past. One day downtown they run into each other he hasn't seen her for a while and he just doesn't know what to do or what to say. All he knows is that memories tend to fade put a picture always last forever. He tried to talk to her about old times but it just wasn't working even when he brought up the the fact that he still has a picture of them in his wallet. It's a heartache type of lyric, but one person just has that love in them forever. I could relate, as if I ran into this girl that I needed when I was in my mid-20s, she's probably the one I fell in love with more than anybody and I used to have a picture of her but I lost it. Anyway it just made me think of this lyric.

No Excuse

By Stanley Chris

The song tells the entire Gospel story in a nutshell. By submitting to the Father's will, as difficult as it was for Him, Jesus purchased remission of sins for the whole world on the Cross. As a result, in Christ, we have redemption (Ephesians 1:7). He also talked about the many mansions in His Father's house that He said He was going to make ready for those who receive the gift of salvation (John 14:1-3). Those are the main themes expressed in the two Verses. The end lines tell us the purpose for all this: so every nation and all creation can give high praise to God for His marvelous love towards us revealed in the vicarious sacrifice of Christ. The Chorus and Post-Chorus are a response showing our commitment to spread the news. This culminates in the Bridge which states that it's all for the glory of His Name, and that we are giving no excuses as we embark on this great commission.

Hamburg liegt nicht am Bosporus

By Georg Wagner (GeWa)

Der Regen bringt Emine zum Weinen, weil sie dann an ihre Heimat denken muss. In Istanbul wird die Sonne scheinen. Doch Hamburg liegt nun mal nicht am Bosporus.
