Summer Dream

(Isaac Wragg)

This is a stab at the a classic summer song with an interpretive twist. I ignored the usual feel good and relational themes for one that hopefully leaves the listener guessing. What it meant to me while writing it will likely be completely different from what it means to you. However, the lyrics are simultaneously not super complex and allow for a celebratory, triumphant feeling to also shine through. Additionally, the rhyme scheme is intentionally a little odd to give the song a more memorable and unique sound.

[Chorus] I've been making plans To go out in the summer Hit the gas in a Hummer While I raise my hands So it'll last forever [Verse 1] It’s been a long spring Feels kind of fitting I've felt pushed and pulled It's been a long life It also flies by I'll use what I have left Because [Chorus] I've been making plans To go out in the summer Hit the gas in a Hummer While I raise my hands So it'll last forever [Verse 2] I'm sort of excited And I'm sort of scared Been planning for a while All packed and prepared It sort of feels right It sort XX XXXXX XXXXX XXX XXXX XX XXXXXXXX XX XXXXX XX XXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXX XXXXX XX XX XXX XX XXX XXXXXX XXX XXX XXX XX X XXXXXX XXX XXXXXXX XX XXXXXX XXXXXXX XXX XXXX XXXXXXX XX XX XXX XXXXX XXXXX XXXXX XXX X XXXX XXXXXXXXXX XXX XXXXXXXXXX XXXX XXX XXXX

Bumblebee

By Isaac Wragg

Sometimes people wonder what mankind's world looks like through the eyes of an animal; sometimes people wonder how the world could fall apart. This poem-ish song combines both concepts to tell a short story about a lovely bumblebee buzzing through a crumbling world. Though the lyrics may come off as fatalistic, they're really more imaginative and focused on the bright little bee as a contrast to the terrible things in the backdrop. Practically, this song was written in the style of a lullaby and is an excellent choice for an acoustic or singer/songwriter vibe.

Forward

By Isaac Wragg

This a song about change and trying to figure yourself out. It was written for a simple, more acoustic vibe--the lyrics reflect this in their simplicity, shortness, and contemplative nature. There's a strong element of confusion woven in, but it's overshadowed in the end by the promise of what's to come.

Move

By Isaac Wragg

It's hard to leave people behind--yet it can be far worse when others leave you behind. That feeling is what Move is all about. It's describing a desire to stop everything in order to hold on, fighting the fear of being abandoned, and crying out when life feels overwhelming. Practically, the song experiments by mixing up its flow several times in the second-half, like an ever-shifting plea begging to be heard. It's odd form makes it a challenging yet highly versatile song for anyone willing to take it on. This is the sister-song to Alone, able to be played immediately before or after it.

Plan

By Howard Aronson

This lyric is about me, and my inability to stick to a plan. I'm great at making plans, but I'm also good at diverting myself from that plan I think if you're going to do something like that you have to have another plan in place, and I rarely ever did today I try to live my life differently and if I make a plan I stick to it if it's not working I reassess make another plan and stick to that one I admire people who can stick to a plan and I think it's part of being a mature person.

In einer Welt, in der man quantitativ konsumiert

By Ann-Kathrin Betz
