Strange Girl

(Mark Walsh)

Hi there. Thanks for looking in. Yea, so this song is a kind of play on the word ‘strange’: to be a stranger and just plain strange. Bars full of strangers and strange people, all looking for a bit of ‘strange’. UK slang for a hook up with a stranger.

There’s a strange girl in town, I saw her in a bar. As I went to go to talk to her, I saw her leaving, in a car. I returned there the next night, hoping to see her face She never did appear, but I was told her name was Grace. I’ve lived in this town all my life, a lot of strange girls live here, but none seem quite as strange as her. As I eased into my Thursday, with Grace upon my mind, I knew if I looked hard enough, one day I would turn blind Strange Alice and strange Debbie, the two came sauntering my way. I passed them both in silence as I had nothing new to say. I could always ask about Grace, the strange new girl in town, I wonder how they would react, to hear their stock is down? I’ve lived in this town all my life, a lot of strange girls here, but none seem quite as strange as her, can’t get her off my mind. The week came to an end, it ended in that bar, another Friday night disappearing into a beer filled jar. Looking around I’m hoping to find, the one, the girl, who can rescue me from the grind. Grace has now gone, do I wish I knew where? By the end of the night, another strange girl will become my obsession and I will hardly care. I’ve lived in this town all my life, I’ve fucked all the strange girls who populate this place but she’s the one who got away, my strange, my darling Grace.

Pandemic

By Mark Walsh

Hi there, thanks for looking. Yea, so I’ve been sitting here contemplating the current mess we are all in regarding this Coronavirus pandemic. The mess our government had made of it and what seems to be our obsession with the end of the world by virus like means.

False Hope

By Mark Walsh

Hi there. Yea, so this song I call ‘false hope’ initially I called it ‘death song’, but that was just a bit too morbid I guess? So basically it’s about the hope and faith we put in religion and how our lives ultimately end in death. Death is always there waiting for us, we live by this everyday yet somehow we live in denial.

The Witch

By Mark Walsh

Hi. Yea, so I recently watched a movie about a medieval witch, which got me thinking about the Salem Witch Trials and how women were accused of witchcraft and then stuck between the devil and the deep blue sea. This song I guess is about a man who loses his love as she’s accused of being a witch. Thanks for looking.

Irgendwann, Irgendwie

By Nadine Schulze

By Georg Wagner (GeWa)

Die Menschen (also, die Krone der Schöpfung) leiden allesamt unter der Pandemie. Den Tieren und Pflanzen (also die Schöpfung) geht es unter Corona sehr gut. - Das sollte uns vielleicht mal zu Denken geben.
