Verse My first memories show my mother's face Those stamps in time can never be replaced The Warmth and strength of my father's arms So safe and secure against all kinds of harm's The scent of my grandfather's aftershave Grandmother's love I'll carry to the grave Their wisdom and love were a guiding light To be a man who knows what's wrong or right Chorus Friends will come and go The love of your life may never show But the one thing that will always be Are the family ties that shape me Verse The roots on our tree go on and on The bloodline grows and remains so strong The older die, and the little ones arrive You can see every generation through my eyes Holding my grandfather's hand as he passes away My baby girl in my arms begins a whole new day One day my time will come, and I embrace my chance To pass my legacy on to my beautiful grandson's dance Bridge We come together in a common name We share our loves, our blood is the same These are the bonds that tie us together Our legacy is love that lives forever Chorus Friends will come and go The love of your life may never show But the one thing that will always be Are the family ties that help to shape me

17 Again

By Howard Aronson

This lyric is a tribute to Nirvana, and written the way they wrote many songs. Doesn't have a lot of lyrics, they're very repetitive, but it's meant to be that way. Kurt Cobain wrote a lot of songs this way, and I really admired can not having to use a lot of different words to get the point across. I didn't have sex until I was 18 and I had graduated high school. All my friends were having sex, but I was so naive, and a little bit tentative when it came to women I remember going out with a girl, we went to where everybody goes parking, and I just sat there, I didn't even try to kiss her. We never went out again, and later in life I found out when I was talking to her on facebook, that she thought I didn't like her. In reality I did, but I was just too scared to show her any affection. Maybe I held her hand once or something like that. So this lyric is about when I was 17

Broken Lullaby

By Karlo Čavlović

A broken lullaby is a metaphor for the voices in our heads telling us that we are not enough and that our life is meaningless. The lullaby symbolically tries to put you to sleep, but sleep, in this sense, is neverending. Our everyday demons try to make us believe that our sadness is forever, even though it isn't.
